So glad you could join us on a walk through time. Let me give you some background on me, and why I’m here writing.
My name is Tatiana, and I really have no skin in the game when it comes to serving as a mouthpiece for people. I’m just an average Jane, if I’m honest. But I grew up with an appreciation for old movies, history, and important figures that shaped my country’s outlook. However, I also soaked up international influences thanks to various experiences I’ve had in my life. And now, you get to reap the benefits of my short life thus far, with all my quiet observations and hopefully thoughtful commentary on the boundary lines between where one type of human ends and another begins.
I myself am a Gen Zer by birth year, but I often find myself classifying myself as someone who drifts through life as a bit of an outlier, so I’m a mix of time and place, never feeling like I truly fit in anywhere but always feeling like I fit in somewhere. That’s why I thought, as a relative bridge often in a lot of communication between my older friends and family and younger people I meet, I could make a lot of people happy by running a blog solely focused on what I do best. I want to reach more people, not for fame or renown, but so more people have peaceful lives.
The world is a vast place, and while we can be reductionist to a degree through theory and the studying of dusty books, nothing can truly substitute experience and the analysis of such–independent thought is, in my opinion, key to a life well-lived. So I will try to package my musings as best I can, with all the personality, critical depth, and well-timed quips I can manage. When I write, though, you should know I’m not very organized and everything comes to me more stream-of-thought than perfectly formed.
This blog might also dip into what the average reader could see as “darker” themes, such as those found in the formal studies of gerontology, thanatology, counseling/therapy, and other offshoots of psychology, amongst other topics. I am obviously no expert in these areas; despite this, I aim to provide a proper, holistic guide to aging and the communication between generations that doesn’t veer too far off from center. This means, of course, that I will try to remain professional and light, but some areas can’t be avoided when speaking about others. You know?
That, and I just have a passion for the stuff.
Thank you so much for joining me!
